Announcements – July 4, 2025

Beloved Ones in the Lord,
Beginning this Sunday, it will be our delight to have Gannon Miles and Dr. Matthew Elliott preaching for us from the First Epistle of Timothy while Carol and I are taking some vacation days.  As I had indicated previously, we will be moving directly into chapter six of Paul’s letter where the Apostle addresses some of the practical matters related to Christian discipleship in this present evil age, or the “later times” (4:1).
This coming Sunday, July 6, Gannon will be preaching from 1 Timothy 6:1-2. Then, on July 13 he will draw his message from 1 Timothy 6:3-10.  On July 20, Matthew will preach from 1 Timothy 6:11-16 (I will be back and will lead worship and Communion on that Sunday).  We will then close out the chapter on July 27 with a sermon I will preach based on 1 Timothy 6:17-21.
As we move on into August and leading up to Advent, we will back up to 1 Timothy 3 where Paul speaks most directly concerning the leadership of the local church, and sets forth the inspired job-description and character requirements for elders and deacons.   From there, we will study the key sections of chapters four and five.
I hope you will get familiar with the texts that Gannon and Matthew will preach from over the next three Lord’s Days, and also that you will keep them in your fervent prayers as they deliver the Word of the Lord.
I know that many of you will also be traveling now that summer is in full swing.  Be assured of my constant prayers for you in all your journeys and summer activities.  You are all always on my heart and in my prayers, and I love you as my precious brothers and sisters in our dear Savior!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Children’s Ministry – The nursery volunteer sign up for July-September is live. Please see the link in your email or contact Amanda Dean to sign up.

Women’s Ministry
• Women’s monthly potluck luncheon is the first Thursday of every month at 11am at the Timbers Edge Clubhouse (1 Timbers Main, Brownsboro). All ladies are invited!
• Senior Sisters monthly meeting is on the third Thursday from 10-11:30am.
• Senior Sisters weekly exercise class meets Tuesdays at the church, 10-11:30am.

Men’s Ministry
• Senior Fellows – Our next breakfast will be at 9am on Tuesday, August 5th.

College and Career Ministry
• Summer fellowship will be Monday evenings for the months of June through August. Contact Jim or Sharon Daughtry for details.
• Young Ladies Summer Bible Study —  Sunday evenings, 6pm at the home of Sharon Daughtry.

Bridal Shower – Bridal shower honoring Ms. Savannah Rodriguez-Feo is planned for Sunday, July 20 from 2-4pm at the home of Carol Calvert. All women are invited.
