  • Announcement – Support for the RUF at UAH Christmas Party

    Church Family,
RUF at UA Huntsville is planing a huge Christmas event for Monday, November 30th at 6:30 p.m.. Our very own Jennifer Kent is in charge of the party and has asked us to partner with them to provide food for their students. They are expecting close to 60 to be there! Praise the Lord!
I have set up a Sign-up Genius page for you with all of the various items we will provide. The church will supply the chicken fingers, and we members will take care of the rest.
Please help us by donating a food or paper product item. I also need two women to be there at 5:30 p.m. to receive food and help set-up. You won’t have to stay more than one hour.
    Other notes:
–The event is to be held at the White House at Southwood (directions will follow closer to the event).
–Please drop your food item off in a disposable container so that we do not have to return glassware/cookware.
–Please have your food item there NLT 5:45 p.m.
–As mentioned, a Christ Pres volunteer will be there to receive your item.
–You can also leave it at the church on Sunday, the 29th, and we will get it to the White House.
Thank you so much for serving RUF in this way! Let’s also pray for Reid, Jennifer, and all of the students as they fellowship in the name of Christ!
    In Him,
    Ashley

  • Announcement: Christmas Cards for Missionary Families

Receiving a package of Christmas cards, photos, and notes of encouragement will be greatly appreciated by our missionary families! There are three ways that you can support our families this Christmas season:
    1) Drop several copies (up to 5) of your Christmas card (or photo Christmas card) in the box set up at the table in the Narthex. It will have a Christmas themed paper covering. Please leave them out of their envelope. If your family name is NOT on the card, sign the card with your family name.  You may also add a word of encouragement to them as well. If you only want to send to specific missionaries be sure THEIR name is in the greeting. The photo cards are a wonderful way for these special families to see us again!
    OR
    2) Take a few of the pre-purchased Christmas cards near the box and sign them (or write a note of Christmas greeting). Return to the mailbox.
The box and extra cards will be available Sunday Nov. 8 through Nov. 29
Judi and the Friends of Missions will take all of the cards collected and sort them out to each missionary family.  If there is no specific name of a missionary, they will be sent one to each family or we will choose a family. We’ll send a package out in early December so they will be received near the Christmas holiday (especially the two foreign missionaries need them sent out early).
    3) There will also be an informational card for you to pick up with updated names, addresses and emails of our missionaries so that if you choose to send a card on your own you may do so. There is a special global Christmas wreath stamp at the PO for sending overseas. It costs around $1.10 each.
Judi will be standing near the box if you have any questions about all this! Or email judifikes@gmail.com.
Please consider this, as it’s an easy way to bless our missionary families! We will send out reminders over the next few weeks.
