Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This coming Lord’s Day, we will once again focus our attention upon the remarkable vision given to the prophet Ezekiel as recorded in Ezekiel 37:1-10. As the prophet himself tells us, by means of the Spirit of the Lord He found himself transported in a vision to a place of death, a vast valley full of dry, sun-bleached, and scattered bones. While he contemplated the horrendous scene before him, Ezekiel was at once confronted with a question from the Lord God; “Son of man, can these bones live?” (v. 3).
As we suggested in our message from last week, it is in this strange vision granted to Ezekiel that we discover some of our most fundamental and cherished doctrines related to our salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord. As we continue to travel through this portion of God’s Word, we will find the Old Testament foundation for what the New Testament authors will call regeneration, sanctification, and preservation.
This Sunday we will give our attention to the test that Ezekiel faced as he was questioned by the Lord. Does he, the mighty prophet of God, really believe that the Lord he speaks for can do the impossible?
I know that our Father has a rich feast prepared for us from His Word as we gather before Him in worship!
I love you all, always,
Mike
